Calcifications/Radiopacities: Case Study

findings for the patient with calcifications

The Findings

Prior to a denture remake or initial make, we take a panorex (at minimum) on every patient.

This provides us with information on the ridges, potential pathological concerns, and an initial read on bone quality.

This information at least stimulates conversation about the feasibility of a denture and ore the possibility of implants.

In addition to the severely attritioned ridges, it was noted that there were radiopacities in the region of the left ramus. With this being a 2D view, we were limited as to the location and a potential diagnosis.

Clinical findings were unremarkable.
