Today’s case: Caries on #13D, restored using two standout products:
- Garrison Matrix System
- Ecosite Elements
Here’s how they helped deliver an efficient, esthetic result!
Procedure Breakdown:
Isolation & Preparation: After isolating the area, caries removal was kept conservative to preserve as much enamel as possible.
Matrix System: Used the Garrison Matrix System, which provided:
Excellent tooth separation for a tight, natural contact
A secure fit at the base of the proximal box to prevent overhangs
Consistent adaptation, reducing the need for excessive finishing
Etching & Bonding: 37% phosphoric acid for 15 seconds, rinsed and dried. Applied 3M Scotchbond, thinned and cured for 15 seconds for a strong, reliable bond.
Composite Placement: Applied Ecosite Elements A1, a nanohybrid composite with:
Push-and-Flow Effect—starts firm but becomes sculptable for easy adaptation
Great polishability for a smooth, enamel-like finish
Low shrinkage stress, ensuring a strong, long-lasting bond
Finishing & Polishing: Used a fine carbide flame bur for contouring, then polished to a high-gloss finish with Jiffy polishing wheels.
Final Result?
A well-adapted restoration with excellent contact and esthetics. The patient left happy, and I was impressed with how well Ecosite Elements handled!
